Could January see the back of Paulo Da Silva

Paraguay and Sunderland centre back Paulo Da Silva is heavily rumoured to be heading back to Mexico and old club Cruz Azul, having struggled to cope with the English premier league.

The 30 year old has only played a handful of games for the Black Cats, even after Sunderland have been hit with major injury problems in defence.

Titus Bramble and Michael Turner both out with long term injuries, boss Steve Bruce opted to push through an unfit John Mensah leaving a fully fit Da Silva on the bench against Wolves.

The rumour has also been given more strength from the recent media reports that Sunderland will be in the market for a centre back this January’s as the transfer window opens.
