Roy Keane in Daryl Murphy talks

Sunderland AFC and Roy Keane could once again be heading towards a show down, this time over a potential deal for striker Daryl Murphy.

The Irish striker has scored six goals in eighteen games since joining the Tractor boys on loan and is rated by Roy Keane.  But it is quite the opposite story at the Stadium of Light where Murphy could not even get a game when Sunderland where struggling with striker injuries, instead Steve Bruce opted to use a lone striker role.

Murphy still has 2 years on his current Sunderland contract and is rumoured to be taking £20,000 a week pay packet home, Sunderland have placed a price tag of £1 million pounds on his head.  But Ipswich don’t have the funds to match both wages and fee.  It could be a case of Sunderland cutting their losses over the striker, as he has proven he is more than happy to sit in the reserves team while claiming a king’s ransom in wages as he turned down a move to Coventry because they couldn’t match his wage demands.
