There have been many rumours regarding the future of Anton Ferdinand in recent weeks, as he has struggled to break back into the first team with the arrival of Michael Turner, Paulo De Silva and John Mensah. All competing for the two centre back places. Ferdinand being linked with a move back to London, with Fulham and former club West ham reportedly interested.

Today several media sources have published articles linking Ferdinand with a swap deal for Spurs right back Alan Hutton.  A deal that would please all party’s involved as both players want to move back near there home.  Scotsman Hutton not being able to settle in London and a series of injury problems keeping him out the Spurs first team.  Sunderland have the choice of centre backs but only one right back in the form of Phil Bardsley, the arrival of Hutton would bring both cover and health team competition for the right back spot.
