Since taking over the Geordie banking chain Northern Crock who were also at the heart of the countries money problems (surprise surprise it took a Geordie business to screw an entire country over) Sir Richard Branson has spoken of his company Virgin Money taking over both the company and also the sponsorship of the toot army.
Sir Branson while adorning a Newcastle United shirt with clearly an iron on sticker over the old logo, which now reads Virgin Money (which is a possible cause of false advertising, as a virgin in Newcastle is rarer than the dodo) had this to say,
“I think we are a lucky brand as can be, told we did the sponsorship deal two hours before the match, got the name on the shirts and they beat Manchester United three-love.
