Black Cats to play Tigers in ground opening

The two teams will be competing for the Raich Carter Trophy, which has been donated by his family especially for this match, at the state-of the-art 25,400 capacity, Kingston Communications Stadium.

Carter was a Sunderland player in the 1930's and on leaving the Black Cats went onto become player-manager at Hull City.
