Blurred Vision the Reason for Substitution

Evans, a consistent performer in Sunderland colours, was replaced by stand-in left-back, Ross Wallace, at half-time after a half in which Sunderland scored one and conceded 2 sloppy goals.

"Jonny had blurred vision. We gave him a chance, hopefully he'll be OK for Saturday [v Hull]."

Ross Wallace played at left-back in the 2-2 draw with Stoke, meaning Danny Collins was pushed into a central partnership with Nyron Nosworthy. The pair managed to finish the game with a second-half clean sheet.
