Ex Sunderland loanee Stewart Downing could see his was back to Wearside, as West Ham look to clear the decks. New West Ham manager Slaven Bilic looks to build a new side, it could benefit Dick Advocaat, as he also looks to strengthen Sunderland.
There certainly will be other interests in Downing if he does become available, but maybe the thought of a return home to the North-East could have pulling power.
