Breen Pulls Out Of Ireland Squad

The Black Cats centre-back has pulled out of Brian Kerr's squad for the testimonial game against Celtic in Glasgow this weekend as well as the World Cup qualifying matches with Israel at Lansdowne Road on June 4th and the Faroe Islands in Torshavn on June 8th because he has not recovered from the knee injury he sustained in Sunderlands final game of the season against Stoke City.
"Gary's knee injury has failed to respond to daily treatement since the last game of the season and has had to withdraw from our upcoming games," said Brian Kerr.
"I am disappointed to lose a defender of Gary's experience but I am hopeful that he will be fit to return for the autumn internationals."
