French striker Djibril Cisse returned to Marseille after his season long loan with Sunderland AFC.

Cisse's start could not have been better, scoring for the first time he pulled on a red and white shirt against Tottenham, he then went on to score eleven goals and became a massive fan favorite scoring in both derby against now championship side Newcastle United.

But his scoring record was short lived scoring once in his final twelve appearances for Sunderland, he also found it difficult to develop a partnership with prize asset Kewnwyne Jones.

Recent press rumours have reported that Harry Redknapp has been in touch with Cisse's agent, opening the door for a possible move for Darren Bent, who has been linked with Sunderland in the past.
