Sunderland travel to 18th-placed Barnsley tomorrow - taking 8,000 fans with them.

Keane said: "People expect us to win and credit to the players for that, they have built up nice bit of respect.

"We won't underestimate Barnsley. We'll prepare properly and we'll be ready for a tough game but we know that if we play well we'll have a good chance of winning.

"We won't take out foot off the gas, if anything, it's time to kick on and cement our place in the play-offs.

"We'll have to roll our sleeves up tomorrow but we do that every day. Teams know that when they play Sunderland these days, they are in for a tough game.

"The lads in the team know they have to keep playing well otherwise they will be out. They know that if they go into it with a lacklustre attitude, I'll spot it and they won't play."
