Cool Keane Receives Promotion Text

The Sunderland manager, who uses Sundays as a day for his family, was walking his dog Triggs when he received a text message containing the all-important Derby County result.

Derby lost 2-0 to Crystal Palace which meant Sunderland and Birmingham were the two teams to gain automatic promotion. Both teams will fight it out on the final day of the season to decide who goes up as champions.

Keane said: "It's great news for the club. I'm delighted for the players who have done a fantastic job.

"I'm also delighted for all the staff who have played such a vital part, the fans who have been tremendous in their support for the team and for Niall and the board who have been a great support since I arrived at the club."
