Sunderland’s defender Sebastian Coates who is currently out on loan with Portuguese side Sporting CP, is becoming a superstar signing.  And is talking about joining the side on a permanent basis this summer when the transfer window opens.

The Uruguayan defender has been chatting to the newspapers over the weekend, when asked if he would like to stay on in Portugal.  He replied by saying he is very happy at Sporting, and that the club has high ambitions.

Having a loan clause, Sporting CP has the option to keep the defender, on a permanent deal for 5 million Euros.

When Coates was pushed further for a more solid answer toward if it came to him making a choice, he eventually admitted that he would make the move from Wearside.

Sunderland signed the defender from Liverpool, but hasn’t really performed for either Premiership club, being very inconsistent.
