It was 12 years ago when Sunderland’s Stadium of Light last hosted an England Senior International, but will now host one again in 2016. May 27th England will take on Australia in a friendly warm up game, in the run up to the Euro 2016.
The FA have confirmed it was a choice between the Stadium of Light and St James Park, although it’s not been made official the venue has had confirmation.
The event is fantastic for the City as well as the club, this being the third time since the Stadium of Light opened that England have been hosted.
