England V Scotland

The event, which is being organised by our very own messageboard members Paul Wallace (Safc38) and Graeme Brymer (Shaded), is running in conjunction with Paul's charity - The Breath Of Life Fund.

The tournament is in memory of Joe Wallace (Paul's father) who sadly passed away of mesothelioma and is being organised as a way to raise funds to find a cure for this awful disease! Funds will go to Paul's 'Breath Of Life Fund'.
Mesothelioma - as many North-Easterners should know - is a disease caused by asbestos. It is extremely common amongst men in the North East because of the amount of men who worked in the shipyards. It can go un-noticed for a long time but when it hits, hearts are broken.

The 5-a-side tournament, which sees Graeme bringing coach loads of guys down from Dundee, is gaining alot of media attention. Durham FM interviewed Paul a few days ago, whilst The Sunderland & Northern Echo's produced a long article on it. The English and Scottish FA's have kindly provided a shed load of kits for the teams too!

As well as the tournament, there will be a party afterwards which will be held at The Quayside Exchange, Sunderland. The party will be great fun with lots of food and booze. There wll be a charity raffle with some big prizes, such as a signed & framed England rugby shirt.

People are working round the clock to make this essential fundraising event a huge success so we would appreciate it if you could attend and event. Or if you can't attend you can simply donate to Paul's fund online.
