Ex Sunderland loanee defender John Mensah looks set for a move to America by having a stint on trial at Sporting Kansas City.
32 year old John Mensah also known as the Rock of Gibraltar, as he was built more for Rugby than football. He has suffered from back problems the majority of his football career amongst of fitness problems, rumour had it that his two year stint at Sunderland, he didn’t train but still played due to how severe his back issue was.
Mensah was also rumoured to have had a dressing room bust up with fellow Sunderland loanee Nedum Onuoha over a 3-1 lost to Wolves, where the pair had to be broke up, after Onuoha made comments regarding Mensah’s match performance.
Then Sunderland Manager Steve Bruce had the option to sign Mensah on a permanent deal, but decided against it due to his injury problems.
