Ex-Sunderland striker Anthony Stokes has been suspended by Celtic for two weeks, after posts he wrote on his twitter account regarding not being picked to play.

He has now apologised by posting an apology again on his Twitter account, after the first two posts on Sunday.

His first post read:

"Buzzing to be brought all the way up to inverness with the team to sit in the stands today, lovely weather for it too."

Then followed up with:

"Who gives a f*** about wages when your not playing games! It's all about playing and contributing not picking up a wage."

Celic boss Ronny Deila said that Stokes' has "showed a lack of respect" to his team-mates.

Deila went on to say that the matter would be dealt with internally, and the strikers comments have been removed from the twitter account.

Stokes is no stranger to upsetting his bosses, he was rumoured to have had several run in’s with then Sunderland boss Roy Keane, when the striker played on Wearside.  Rumours that he was banned from several if not all bars in the Sunderland area for being seen on the drink the night before games.
