Ex-Sunderland captain Dean Whitehead has been in court facing speeding charges, he was caught in February doing 90 on the motorway.

But has now pleaded hardship in court, as he is in risk of losing his licence already having 9 points on it.

Losing his licence would make it difficult for him to travel to and from his place of work, and to take his children to school.

Whitehead will be back in court in October to continue the hearing.
