Graham Transfer Info Still Muddy!

Both Sunderland and Norwich City lodged bids for the £5m-rated striker last week but Swansea boss Michael Laudrup said yesterday that he wanted Graham to stay and, as far as he was aware, the player had shown no desire to leave.

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins responded by insisting there has been no transfer request, despite rumours suggesting the player "insisted" in talking to Sunderland.

Jenkins: “At the moment there is no substance to this whatsoever.”

Laudrup: “I can only say Danny is a player who is here and we want him to stay — we don’t want change.

“Of course I can understand if he wants to play regularly, but there are nine or ten others like him in our squad.

“He has not said officially to me that he wants to leave and I have not read or heard it in an interview, so that means he will probably stay.

“The other part is that even if a player says he wants to leave, then it’s still down to the clubs involved to agree a fee.

“I don’t want players who are unhappy or have a good chance to go somewhere else, but there’s still the economic part.

“I don’t want to talk about who has bid what for Danny. All I will say is that there have been bids and they have not been enough – and the player has not said he wants to go.”
