Sunderland living legend Julio Arca is still knocking about Wearside, but this time working as a member of the Black Cats backroom staff.

The Argentinean left sided wizard was a massive fan favourite at Sunderland for around six years, until in 2006 when he signed for Boro after Sunderland where relegated.  A few seasons struggling with injury, he became Boro’s Captain, although Arca still had Sunderland in his heart, he was often spotted at the Stadium of Light supporting the lads.

Arca retired from professional football last year,  as further injury issues took its toll, but to everyone’s surprise one Sunday morning rucking up to play for Sunderland Sunday league side Willow Pond.

He has now taken on a role at SAFC academy coaching the kids while he does his European Coaching Badges, and has a massive desire to one day manage Sunderland.
