The Sunderland full-back was victim of a bad tackle at Gigg Lane and will be missing for a few weeks, prompting a scare for Sunderland.

With Nyron Nosworthy also out with an abdominal injury - the only suitable replacement would be Rory Delap who is not certain to be fit for monday.
