The 26-year-old was one of the driving forces behind Drogheda's successful UEFA Cup run this summer.
Leeds, Leicester, Southampton and Sunderland are all rumoured to be taking a close look at Gavin.
Gavin's agent, Garry Thornburn has confirmed a number of club are hot on the trail of the Irish defender.
"There a number of clubs interested in Jason," Thornburn told skysports.com.
"Jason is interested in coming back to England and trying his luck again.
"We now have to wait and see what is on offer and see if anything happens before the transfer deadline."
It is expected Gavin will choose Sunderland in-favour of all the other clubs following their Irish takeover and appointment of Irish legend, Roy Keane as manager.
