Sunderland winger Adam Johnson’s pre-season tour of the United States of America with the rest of the Sunderland 1st team is in doubt, due to his current legal situation.

Johnson will have to wait and see if he is granted a Visa which will allow him travel to America because of his pending court case over child sex allegations.   He is due to appear at Durham Crown court on the 3rd August which should be the start of the trial.

Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat declined to comment on the situation, as well as the United States Embassy.
