Ben Alnwick today joined Spurs in a deal worth £900k. The deal could escalate to £1.3million depending on appearances.

Heading the other way is Marton Fulop who has been on-loan with the Black Cats for several months. Fulop has only made one appearance for Sunderland so far but the 6ft 5inch, Hungarian international has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal at the Stadium Of Light.

"I am really pleased to join the club on a permanent basis," said Fulop. "I've been here for over a month now and I really like the set-up - they are a great bunch of lads and a good team.

"Of course, my aim is to get a starting place and establish myself as club number one for many years and I will continue to work hard to achieve this. I know I have tough competition with Wardy, but hopefully I will make the jersey mine."

Black Cats boss Roy Keane said: "Marton is a young, hungry player who clearly wants to do well for the club and hopefully he'll be a top player for Sunderland in the future."
