The Swede had to settle for a place on the bench on Saturday as the Black Cats were thrashed 4-1 at Arsenal in the Premier League.
He won a winners medal in the competition back in 2011 when Birmingham City stunned Arsenal.
Sebastian Larsson: "I would be lying if I said I did not care.
"I am desperate to play. If I do not it will be a massive disappointment.
"In a sense, it is the biggest game of the season for us, even though we have to make sure we stay in the league."
