League Position Review

Sunderland's automtic promotion challenge took a positive step yesterday as the lads beat Reading 2-0 to pick a valuble three points.

This moved the Mackems back into a play-off position with two games in hand over every club above them, one game in hand over Millwall and three games in hand over Ipswich and Reading.

West Ham were soundly beaten by Millwall (4-0) and I have a feeling we'll be looking over our shoulder at Millwall for the remainder of the season. I beleive they're a dark horse for promotion to the Premiership this season.

Wigan and Sheffield United picked up three points, so no ground has been gained on those teams, but with Norwich beaten by Crystal Palace and West Brom not playing, ground has been gained on the front two.

The two automatic promotion places are anything but confirmed and Sunderland have every chance of taking one of them.
