The Republic of Ireland international midfielder has a hamstring injury which could force him to miss the replay at St. Andrew's on wednesday evening.

"Jason's got a tight hammy and he had an ear infection at the weekend. He wasn't feeling right at Cardiff and he was sick at half-time," Black Cats boss Mick McCarthy told the clubs official website,

"He's the squad and we'll see how he is.

"To play on Wednesday at eight o'clock and Saturday at twelve-thirty, it's going to be kind of tough so I do have the option of not playing him. Paul Thirlwell is fine, he's in good form so he could play."
