The Republic of Ireland international midfielder has a hamstring injury which could force him to miss the replay at St. Andrew's on wednesday evening.

"Jason's got a tight hammy and he had an ear infection at the weekend. He wasn't feeling right at Cardiff and he was sick at half-time," Black Cats boss Mick McCarthy told the clubs official website, www.safc.com

"He's the squad and we'll see how he is.

"To play on Wednesday at eight o'clock and Saturday at twelve-thirty, it's going to be kind of tough so I do have the option of not playing him. Paul Thirlwell is fine, he's in good form so he could play."
