O'Neill: Ex-magpie not on his way to Sunderland

The former Newcastle player was expected to complete a loan move to the Black Cats until the end of the season with a view to strengthening the defence for the promotion run-in.

O'Neill said: 'I have not heard anything about those two [Samuel & Angel]. I have not heard from the football clubs. Nobody from Bolton has contacted me about Jlloyd Samuel, although I am not saying that they should. I didn't know about River Plate or about Sunderland and [Aaron] Hughes.'
