Prem-class encounter for a quid

Sunderland were drawn a home tie against The Latics from Lancashire in the FA Cup third round.

Similar to the League Cup encounter against Arsenal a couple of seasons ago, children (under 16) will be able to accompany an adult to the game for £1. Sunderland are hoping to attract a bumper crowd for the match on Saturday, January 5th.

Full-price tickets are available for £17 (for all areas of the stadium) and any adult who purchases one, has the chance to buy a child's ticket for £1.

SAFC chairman Niall Quinn said: "It's good to see initiatives like this from the Football Association.

"Everyone appreciates that January is a difficult time of year for supporters from a financial perspective and the £1 scheme should hopefully mean we'll have a big crowd to support the team - perhaps we'll welcome some new supporters to the Stadium of Light too."
