News from across in Spain is that Sunderland are offering veteran defender Alvaro Arbeloa a contract in the search for a right back.

Arbeloa announced he would leave Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer, the right back who is 33 years old would find it increasingly difficult getting first team action.

Although this news clashes with today’s reports of Sunderland rekindling interest in Spurs right back DeAndre Yedlin, Moyes has said Sunderland do need increase first team players.

The Spaniard has represented his country 56 times, and would provide a huge amount of experience to the squad.  Sunderland weaker neighbours Newcastle United, who have lost all there championship matches to date, have also been linked, but the chance to play in the premiership could be a great pull.
