Wearside outfit, Sunderland, are believed to have expressed an interest. The

Danny Shittu
25 year old, who made 45 appearances in blue and white last season and contributed 4 goals, would be a perfect replacement for the departed Gary Breen.

Although takeover talks are still on-going, and no manager has been officially appointed, transfer dealings are said to be well underway at the Stadium of Light.

Watford have recently had a bid rejected for the Nigerian born defender and QPR chairman, Gianni Paladini insists the club want at least £3,000,000.

"We certainly won't sell him for that. I told them we want £3m and then another £500,000 if they stay up and we won't take less than the asking price.

"Danny's under contract - he knows the situation and he knows we are building a team. He's one of our most important players and we want to keep those players at the club."
