Danny had this to say "Nothing was said about a permanent move when I joined on loan - the deal was just until the end of the season. But if the chance of a permanent move to Sunderland came up I'd jump at it.
"At Sunderland I've had the chance to play in the first team and it's been terrific. This is a massive club - it is up there with the best.
"I didn't really appreciate that until I came here, but now I have seen it for myself I know it should be up there in the top flight."
