Derby County have snatched Tommy Smith from Sunderland on a free transfer after turning down a new contact offer from Mick McCarthy. That makes Tommy Smith George Burley's 3rd signing of the season and had this to say about the promising forward.
"We are delighted to have got him, especially as Sunderland made him another offer. He is lightning quick, has good ability and is very sharp."
This news means that you can expect another two, maybe three new players heading for the SOL, not including Steve Caldwell.
