Steve To Return Next Month

Caldwell, who was injured during Sunderland's second game of the season, admits it may be a challenge to force the current centre backs to the bench but is confident that he can make a swift return to the new-look Sunderland side.

He told the Journal: 'I'm feeling a lot better than I did.

'The injury is improving and I'm feeling good. I'm probably still about three weeks away from being able to play again but at least the end is in sight now.'
