Not a Dumb kid!
Sunderland have completed the signing of Dumbarton defender Neil Collins on a two year deal and will become Mick McCarthy's seventh signing of the season.

Neil turned down a contract offer from the Scottish outfit and Sunderland will pay £25,000 in compensation due to the players age.

Micks only task now is to find a suitable striker to team up with Kyle, Elliott and Stewart.

Neil had this to say on joining the lads.

"I'm really delighted to join Sunderland. Dumbarton wanted me to stay but once I knew Sunderland were interested I was very keen to come here. I hope to impress the manager and show I can do a good job in the team."

McCarthy added.

"He was recommended to us and he came done here and did really well. He's been part-time and he will go full-time now, that will improve him and I expect him to push for the first team."
