Sunderland fined over stormy City draw

The Black Cats were fined ?30,000 (36,000 euros/48,000 dollars) after an angry reaction from their players towards referee Phil Dowd following his awarding of a 43rd-minute penalty.

Several players crowded around Dowd following the decision to express their disapproval.

Sunderland had denied the charge but were found guilty and have been warned of their future conduct, the FA said.
