Sunderland in striker talks?

Rumours that Sunderland are currently in talks with Preston North End have emerged on social media this morning over forward Jordan Hugill.

The striker has been linked with a move to Sunderland ever since Simon Grayson was unveiled as the Black Cats new boss.

The 25 year old is clearly no stranger to Grayson having been signed by him from Port Vale in 2014, he’s also no stranger to the North East.  Born in Middlesbrough and started in career at Seaham Red Star, he’s also played for Consett, Gateshead and Hartlepool.

He’s a big strong lad who will cause defences problems through that, Preston have turned down bids from both Ipswich Town and Birmingham for his signature.
