Sunderland are reportedly watching the situation after AS Roma have put there striker Seydou Doumbia in the shop window.

Sunderland are desperate to strengthen all over in the struggle to drag themselves out of the bottom 3, but Big Sam will have a mountain to climb to sign Doumdia.  With a list of other teams in better positions, that are all gunning for the strikers signature.

The Ivory coast international, has bags of pace, physically very strong who is very happy playing the loan striker role.  With AS Roma wanting rid of him, Sunderland may land him at a discounted price but is there time to play a bidding game with the transfer window so close to ending.
