Sunderland have officially signed Cristian Miguel Riveros Núñez, from Mexican outfit Cruz Azul.
The 27 year old had been rumoured to have been on Steve Bruce's shopping list since the last transfer window, in which it was suggested there was a 12 million pound price tag for the midfielders services, its is yet be confirmed but its rumoured that he has signed on a Bosman free transfer.
Riveros have been picked along side now fellow Sunderland player Paulo da Silva for Paraguay's international team to player in the 2010 World Cup.
