Striker Darren Bent has spoken about his time at Charlton under the mag new manager Alan “Partridge” Pardew.

Bent started by saying that “To be fair, he’s a great fit for the Newcastle job,” – in other words a clown of a manager for a circus club.

He won’t be scared of it a lot of people would be but he’s got the character and personality and to do really well in the North East. – He’s been on the dole since August after being sacked from a 1st division club, should fit in well with the rest of the work shy Geordies.

“It’s a great part of the world coming to Sunderland has been brilliant for me and I’ve loved every minute of it. And the people aren’t just passionate about their football, they’re also welcoming”  - Aye SUNDERLAND is a great part of the world shame Newcastle isn’t although Newcastle would be a canny place if it wasn’t for the Geordies.

“I saw him again at the weekend and he’s still full of the same passion and ideas." – Yes those very same ideas and passion that took Charlton down and almost took them down further.

“It says a lot about him that only a couple of days after taking the job, he was out and about in the region, mixing with fans and journalists, at an awards dinner.” – Like he couldn’t get a job anywhere else, wondering around the North East thinking what have I done, and joining the awards dinner for the drink.

“He’s not here for a holiday, he’s here to do a good job and make a difference. He’s here for the long-term and it was great to say hello.” – He’s signed a 5 and a half year deal in the last 5 years the mag’s have had 7 managers, let’s see how long he lasts with the Geordie witch hunt mob.

“Charlton were struggling at the time we’d won something like one game out of 10 in all competitions but he came in and was absolutely brilliant.” – But he still took us down and that was us screwed!  He nearly sent us down to the first division.

“He’d said to me from the moment he got to Charlton that if a big club came in for me, he wouldn’t stand in my way, as long as I gave 100 per cent.” – I reckon he will sell Carroll at first asking.
