Ki Sung-Yueng: “It was a great occasion for me, for the fans and for the football club.

“Everyone was desperate to win the game. The cup competition gave us a great chance to reorganise ourselves.

"It was my first goal in England and for it to come at this moment – a cup quarter final - it’s something I never expected.

“The boys were really focussed on the game and from coming off the bench all I wanted to do was help the team go through to the next round.

“Whether I play one minute, two minutes, 45 minutes or 90 minutes, I don’t care, I just want to do my best on the pitch.

“It’s an amazing competition, especially for a team like Sunderland.

“We have a great opportunity to play at Wembley, which is an honour. I experienced it last year with Swansea and would love that chance again, it’s a great prize.”
