Slaven Bilic is the new name to be rumored for the Sunderland managers job, the 39 year old who is currently in charge of the Croatian national team.

Most notably for his success in Euro 2008 qualifiers, winning the group which saw England knocked out the qualifying stage and consequently Steve McClaren losing his job.

It is no secret that Bilic wants to try his hand at club football, offering a deal which would of seen him as part-time manager to his old club West ham until January only to be rejected by West Ham.

The Croatian manager's contract includes a get-out clause in January in which he had hope to take the West Ham job on full time.

This would also link in well with Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn's relaxed pace on the recruitment of a new manger.
