What will be of our Flash Gordon?

It’s no surprise that the majority of the North East sports journalists are under cover mags by the pure amount of cover they get, hiding their support in fear of non sided views.

So while they are stroking themselves over the toots dare I say very good season, they are writing any old hmmm how can I put this.....bollocks I think is the best term.

Anyhow Craig Flash Gordon, the man then got injured and disappeared from the face of the planet, the country’s most expensive keeper’s contract is up this summer.

This means that if he is not offered or offered and doesn’t except he can bugga off for nowt!

Now this leads me to our Journo chums that say we have a battle on our hands to keep Gordon on Wearside with many clubs sniffing about the Scottish international.  Which whoever they are would be taking a risk as although he was a quality keeper before the injury who’s to say he’s going to come back the same lad, after such a long stretch out?

The other and more likely of the reports is that Lord O’Neill has said he wants to put Gordon out into a game to see for himself what he is made of before any sort of contract discussions are kicked off.

So it’s pretty much let wait and see what Martin O’Neill wants to do, its got to be said Simon Mignolet has had a great season and pulled out some cracking saves and saving Sunderland’s game a few times, there is also Westwood who is pretty decent back up.
