An uncountable amount of Tweets, Facebook links and even several mainstream sports media sites are breaking the rumour/news that Sunderland have accepted a bid from Crystal Palace for striker Conner Wickham.
He signed a lengthy contract only last season after his goals pretty much kept Sunderland in the premier league in the 2013-14 season.
But this season he hasn’t done as well he seemed to have never regained that flow of goal scoring that Sunderland desperately need at the moment.
Several Sunderland managers since look to have not favoured the striker, only Roy Keane who was the man who brought him to Sunderland. Wickham does seem to have the party boy stigma attached to him, which is a surprise for Keane rated him, the then Sunderland boss is renowned for detesting that sort of thing.
In my opinion although Wickham wasn’t doing it on the pitch, the Black Cats must replace the striker. Looking at the reactions of most Sunderland fans right now, Wickham won’t be missed if he does go.
