Wigan Double-Deal

It was earlier revealed that midfielder Graham Kavanagh had left the Irish squad to hold transfer talks with fellow Irishmen Roy Keane and Niall Quinn. It is now believed that the former United captain wants to take Connolly to Sunderland also.

Connolly signed for Wigan on deadline day last season in a deal that has now cost the Latics £3million. Despite scoring on his debut against West Brom, 'Conners' has failed to live up to his hefty price tag and could now be set to leave Wigan just one year on.

Any such move would leave Wigan with just two strikers, both of which are injured and so any deal would hang on whether the JJB outfit can sign a striker before the twelve midnight deadline.
