Will he stay or will he go.

Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce gave Jermain Defoe a pat on the back after scoring the winner against Palace last night.

But followed it by saying the striker could be away, it all depends on what will come out with talks with club owner Ellis Short.

Defoe scored after Palace defender Scott Dann’s mistake, gifting the Sunderland striker an open goal.  As the defender attempted to shield the ball for the Palace keeper to pick up, Defoe nipped around him taking the ball away and sticking it in the goal.

Big Sam said: “Who knows down the line in January what we are going to do. I don’t know yet. I haven’t spoken to Ellis.”

Shortly after the goal the half pint striker seemed to have picked up a limp as the game came to a close.
