After a poor start to the season, dutch defender Patrick van Aanholt is over the moon to have gotten his very first premiership goal and admitted he’s been playing “very badly”.
Van Aanholt had a fantastic season last year, but a very different one this time around, being one of the players that added to Sunderland’s struggles at the start, making some big mistakes at the back.
But he seems to have improved on his performances since the arrival of big Sam, and even scoring the opener at the weekends game.
“I started the season very badly and that happens with young players coming to the Premier League,”
“I had my ups and downs, but since the new gaffer came in, he’s given everyone a chance.
“I’m glad I’m playing and I’ve got my first Premier League goal.”
