Word On The Grape-Vine

The Daily Mail reported that the Hatters, who sold Carlos Edwards to Sunderland only on Tuesday, had essentially sold their top goalscorer to the Wearside outfit.

This has however been refuted by the London-based club who have released a statement on the subject.

"Following a report in Saturday's Daily Mail, Luton Town Football Club denies that Rowan Vine has been sold and that the report is completely inaccurate," read a club statement.

"The club can confirm that at no time have they had any discussions with Sunderland Football Club for any player, other than Carlos Edwards."

Vine, the scorer of 12 goals this season, was the subject of a rejected bid from Cardiff and interest from Norwich City.
