Young SAFC midfielder out to prove himself.

A young lad from South Shields is ready to take on Europe as he represents England in the U17 European Championship. Pint sized Sunderland midfielder Daniel Wright, who is knee high to a grasshopper at 5ft 6in. Young Danny is ready to prove those who said he is too short to play professional football wrong, donning the three lions shirt against Italy. Being interviewed by the F.A. He said "I like it when people say I'm too small because I love proving them wrong. "When I was younger playing for boys clubs I had that a lot. "It didn't get me down, it just made me more determined to prove them all wrong." "I think I'm positive when I play and I'll always give my best in every training session." "I like to get forward, but I know my role really well when I'm asked to sit. "I've been working on my finishing back at the club and it's starting to come off a bit in games. I've done a lot of shooting drills, practising my close-range finishing and long-range, I've been working on it all. "We are all really positive and believe we can do well. We have to make sure that we keep the momentum going. "We all trust each other with the ball and know what we can all do. We have to stick together."
