Total Football Book

Calling all Sunderland-Mad members old and new alike, here's the chance to win a copy of recently released Total Football, Sunderland AFC 1935 - 1937.

A lovely woman called Clare from the Breedon Books Publishing Company Ltd has very kindly sent me two copies of this latest book to put up for grabs.

The book was written by Paul Days and Mark Metcalf, it takes a look at Sunderland AFC back in the days when they where at the very top of the game.

"Sunderland AFC 1935-37 harks back to a pre war era where Sunderland AFC was the best in the land. It brings back to life club legends such as Raich Carter, perhaps the finest player ever to play for the club, together with Silksworth’s own Bobby Gurney, who remains to this day the club’s highest ever goal scorer.
Seventy years may have passed since the 2 campaigns finished but the achievements of the pre war Sunderland teams still fires the imagination and hopes of the club and its supporters in the 21st Century."

The books normally retails at £12.99 but as a special deal to The Black Cats members, Clare at Breedon Books has very kindly offered us a discount, by following this link www.breedonbooks.co.uk/theblackcats.html

Right, to win one of these fantastic books, and to also make it fair (as I know some members are very good at there Sunderland Trivia).

I want to know, the forth coming game Sunderland Vs Celtic, on the 1st Aug, who will score the first goal and at what minute of the game?

The two people with the right player and closest time to the actual goal scored time will receive the prise, if no one gets it I will continue running on to the next game until they have both gone.

Only one guess per user, and no multiple usernames, I can find out being editor and all!!!

To enter the competition email me your answer to DarylBaker@Blueyonder.co.uk
along with your Sunderland-Mad username.

I will post the names and times as I get them from the members on the message board, don't worry I will only post your username and answer, NOT your email address.

I will lock the post so only I can edit it and keep a copy of the email so there’s no cheating!
