A Big Crowd, a Good Atmosphere, and a Clean Sheet

"We're delighted. We've scored four goals and kept a clean sheet - and we could have scored more, so it's a decent afternoon.

"With the quality we have, we hope that we're going to create chances, but first and foremost you have to have the work-rate.

"Generally, the players have that and with the group I have now, I'm quite relaxed before games, because I know that's the least they're going to give, it's a great comfort for me.

"We have good competition, we saw that today. Liam Miller in the middle of the park was outstanding and so was Dean Whitehead - there is competition for places in most positions.

"I was delighted to see Stern [John] get off the mark. I thought his second goal was a great finish. He deserved it, his general play has surprised a lot of people and, like David Connolly has shown, if he gets chances he'll score goals.

"It's important to use the squad. I gave Dwight [Yorke] a rest today - he was also on four bookings, like Deano; but, again, we have the likes of Liam Miller and Ross Wallace to come in, we have a few in reserve.

"The time to reflect on the season will be at the very end. I think it will be nip and tuck right to the very last game of the season.

"We've been playing catch-up; today we've managed to squeeze into the play-offs but we don't want to rest on our laurels, we want to keep going.

"It was a big plus today. Other than scoring four goals, there was a big crowd, a good atmosphere, and a clean sheet.

"We knew that we would have to go on a good run to have a chance, so all the plaudits go to the players.

"We're setting loads of goals - every day we set them a different challenge. People were expecting us to win at home, so every day provides a different challenge.

"We've been strong physically and mentally and there was a good, positive feeling at the hotel last night.

"Now we look forward to Birmingham on Tuesday night. We recover tomorrow and get ready for what will hopefully be a cracking game."
